St Mary Magdalene Chapel

A very rewarding 20-minute walk away from the school leads to Dingli cliffs which offer breath-taking views of the Mediterranean Sea. One can admire the Island of Filfla standing alone in the open sea. These cliffs are part of the highest landmass in Malta (200m above sea level). On the edge of the cliffs, one can find a small chapel dedicated to St Mary Magdalene. It was built in the year 1646. The chapel was documented to be struck by lightning twice, once on the 4th of February 1936 which broke the circular window. It was hit again by lightning during a thunderstorm on the 10th of December 2014. The chapel was reopened for visitors in 2015.
