The School Year

The school year is divided into three terms. Term 1 starts on the Monday following Independence Day which falls on the 21st of September and ends a few days before Christmas. After around two weeks of Christmas holidays, the second term starts. This ends on the Friday just before Palm Sunday. After two weeks of Easter holidays, the third term starts and this ends towards the end of June.

Currently, formal examinations are held in February and in June. The February Exams are called Half Yearly Examinations and the June exams are called Annual Examinations. During the exam weeks and during the month of June, school finishes at 12.20 instead of 14.45.
